Australia’s first carbon-positive site made possible through Solarators

Case Studies

February 11, 2025

Overview:

Dubbed as the Western Program Alliance, the Victorian state government has set a goal to remove hundreds of dangerous level crossings by 2030.

Key challenge:

As the lead constructor, McConnell Dowell wanted to implement sustainable construction practices throughout the project lifespan.

Solarator® solution:

The project used a grid-connected Solarator® enabling 109,000 kgs of carbon savings and 140,000 kWh of renewable energy generated across three separate deployments. With an easy-to-deploy and highly mobile design, moving across sites proved to be more convenient and cost-effective than building permanent infrastructure.

Project wins:

Black, industrial container with open door; solar panel field in the background under cloudy sky.
