Cold chain solutions that go where others can’t
At Black Stump Technologies, we understand that delivering renewable energy and sustainable cooling solutions to remote and infrastructure-poor regions can be a challenge. Our fully containerised, 100% solar-powered Solarator® Ice, Chill, and Freeze are mobile, modular and rapidly deployable solutions ideal for remote communities and off-grid operations. However, some locations are simply inaccessible to large boats and heavy vehicles.
To overcome these issues, we have Flat Pack versions of our icemakers, cool rooms, and freezers. Our Flat Pack range is ultra compact, 100% solar-powered cold chain products that are engineered for the toughest delivery and deployment conditions and can be delivered to locations where our containerised Solarators® can’t.
Whether it’s a coastal fishing village accessible only by boat, or a remote inland community with no sealed roads, our Solarator® Flat Packs are designed to arrive intact and ready to serve. Whether an icemaker, chiller, or freezer, this cold chain product range is packed flat for efficient transport and easy assembly.
Employing local trades and labour
Our Solarator® Flat Packs do more than keep things cold, they unlock significant economic opportunities. We work with local partners to train and employ community members to install and maintain the systems, building skills and creating jobs where they’re needed most. Our deployment strategy prioritises active and continuous engagement with community beneficiaries to ensure that our tech solutions meet local needs and foster a sense of ownership.
Enabling local business
Once installed, Solarator® Flat Packs also become engines of local enterprise.
Remote communities use them to sell potable water, produce and sell ice, and store perishable goods, supporting small businesses and improving food security. It’s a model that delivers climate resilience and economic development, hand in hand, while significantly reducing carbon emissions and fuel costs.
